Terra-gen Operating Company Llc Terra-gen Operating Company Llc Mojave, CA Mojave, CA Full-time Full-time $80,000 - $110,000 a year $80,000 - $110,000 a year 1 day ago 1 day ago 1 day ago Summary The Health and Safety Coordinator will be responsible for the administration and execution of the health and safety program at the company's operations in Mojave, California which include Wind Energy, Photovoltaic Solar Energy and Energy Storage projects.
This is an office-based role.
This position will provide training and quality support to site personnel to achieve company goals and objectives in the area of health and safety.
Responsibilities will be accomplished through administering training and qualification programs, injury case management, investigations and developing correction actions for injuries, conducting field visits and safety audits, hazard recognition and recordkeeping to comply with the company's program and Federal OSHA/State OSHA.
The role will positively promote and influence a culture of safety and compliance with laws, regulations, the company's code of ethics, internal requirements and other policies and procedures through the implementation and maintenance of the company's health and safety program and consistent with industry best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adhere to, support, and comply with all Terra-Gen Operating Company, LLC policies, procedures and best practices.
Coach all employees in working safely and within company policies and regulatory guidelines.
Comply with government and industry safety standards by monitoring safety regulations and advising management as appropriate.
Coordinate with all site management teams, as appropriate to accomplish site goals in the health and safety program framework.
Ensure quick and accurate response to accidents/injuries and assist HR with documentation as needed.
Conduct incident / near miss root cause analysis and follow-up activities.
Assist Operations with the formation and administration of qualification programs.
Maintain the health and safety online training database.
Maintain the health and safety training matrix.
Work with the Health and Safety Training Coordinator in building the annual training program and preparing teaching plans.
Direct structured learning experiences and monitor for quality results.
Assess training effectiveness to ensure incorporation of taught skills and techniques into employees work behavior.
Acclimate new hires to the business culture and conduct orientation sessions.
Act as Safety Committee Co-facilitator for the Wind Safety Committee.
Other duties as assigned by Director H&S.
Requirements Preferred:
Wind renewables experience Have 3-5 years of safety compliance experience.
Ability to evaluate risk and apply hazard control measures.
Proven experience investigating injuries and developing RCA reports with sound corrective actions.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to define and set priorities, follow through and respond to changes with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication, presentation and public speaking skills.
Sound decision-making and organizational skills.
Proven experience in designing multiple training events in a corporate setting.
Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
Proven ability to master the full training cycle.
Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools and techniques.
Adequate knowledge of learning management software.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment, systems construction, capacity limitations, theories of operation and operating procedures.
Safe use of tools, probable causes of equipment and systems malfunctions.
Knowledge of heavy equipment operation.
Knowledge of electrical test equipment and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in MS Office and in database software.
Preferred:
Familiarity with TapRoot Familiarity with Wind or PV, Energy Storage facility operations.
Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and OSHA CFR 1926 Regulations.
Knowledge of State OSHA Regulations.
Certifications, Education, Licenses High School Diploma, GED or higher education Valid Driver's License First Aid, CPR, AED Instructor Safety Certification Preferred - Certificate in Safety Management, ASP or CSP Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job.
