Network Security Engineer
Who we are
As a key member of TSC's IT department, the Network Security Engineer will work in close coordination with the Infrastructure Team to ensure high levels of service/uptime to the enterprise. This position will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, security and integration of the corporate WAN, LAN networks as well as various security applications.
Your Mission
Plans and executes the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of network hardware, software, LAN and WAN networks, and operating and system management systems; defining system and operational policies and procedures from a security best practice standpoint.
Secures system by developing system access, monitoring, control, and evaluation. Establishes and tests disaster recovery policies and procedures, completes back-ups, and maintains
documentation for network and security hardware/software.
Upgrades system by conferring with vendors and services; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements and new software.
Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets with proactive monitoring and tracking of expenses.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reads professional publications, maintains personal networks and participates in professional organizations.
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Identifies and defines system security requirements
Assist users to resolve network hardware and/or software problems
Provide quick response to ensure maximum uptime of all users and systems
Establishes system specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information and security requirements; designing system infrastructure.
What you bring
Deploys and implements Industry standard best security practices
At minimum 5 years of previous IT Network/Security Engineering experience in corporate environment
Effective skills in training users, as well as junior members of the IT team
Success in an environment where high levels of multi-tasking are required
Create a high level of user satisfaction through accurate and timely follow-up & strong technical skills
Works well independently as well as with a collaborative team of professionals
Ability and willing to work on-call, and from home if needed
Must be a U.S. person as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR 120.15).
Expert working knowledge of the following:
Dell NSA Firewalls, CSSP certification highly desired
VPN, SSL VPN, IPsec VPN, Port Forwarding, Dynamic VPN Routing, Route-Based VPN/Tunnels
Layer 3 switch knowledge and configuration. Knowledge of Cisco and Force 10 highly desired
Static and dynamic routing protocols; Default routes, EIGRP, IGRP, OSPF, BGP
VLANs, QOS, port-security, LAGs
High-Availability and redundant network and security systems
Cisco Wireless Lan Controllers and enterprise level access points
Network hardware configuration, network maintenance, network performance tuning.
Fibre, SFP transceivers, CAT6, 66-block
Spam filtering, email security and boundary defense
Good working knowledge in the following:
Cyber security/data policy/risk analysis
Knowledge of and experience with basic Windows and Linux OS functions, system administration, proxy servers.
Visio network typology mapping for updating network typology
VoIP/telephone landline and wireless services & equipment support (IPhone/Android)
